Portland, Ore. --- Local band Super Rocks lived up to its name at this week's Open Bike show, setting the stage for a raucous and fun-filled evening that included exotic tales of Hawaiian bike adventure, a song about hot cargo bike moms, and a vagina monologue of sorts.
Here's how it went down (links below take you directly to each act)

Super Rocks opened the show with a couple of scorchers
We showed Zed Bailey's video How to Ride a Tall Bike
Jakob Grimm played acoustic guitar and sang heartfelt songs about familiar friends and places
We showed a CNN news clip from a recent Portland bike move
Emily Finch delivered a humorous monologue about Catholic birth control, motherhood and what you can't say on Ricki Lake
Andy Schmidt played a couple of songs about being a bicycle riding papa and his love of hot cargo bike mamas
We announced the winner of our weekly photo booth contest
Ted Buehler and Molly Fitzpatrick regaled the audience with bike touring tales and photos from the islands of Maui and Molokai, and shared some tropical fruit
Super Rocks played a full set to close out the show!

Bike Love is an experiential narrative documentary film about Kara Minnehan's bike riding quest in Portland, Oregon. Knock for Knock, a short film about cycling and boxing in Tokyo

Visual artist Antony Crook, in collaboration with Rapha and RSA Films, presents Knock for Knock.

Shot in Tokyo, with a soundtrack from Mogwai and a script written by long-distance cyclist James Bowthorpe, the film represents a sportsman’s fight against his inner demons.

US: A Documentary (fixie bikes)

This video was shown on #BikeCheck May 10. My very first long documentary about a group of teenagers who take up the rising trend of fixie bikes here in Los Angeles. It was a long production and the editing was rushed due to time scheduling so there are mistakes there, but it doesn't take away from the film. They take matters in their own fixies. It's about the how they started, why, and what makes them not stopping. Anyone who's a fixie biker should watch this, these dudes are great people, and funny as well. They're more than a crew who don't look for trouble, they're more of a family that sticks together and it's captured here in this documentary. I associated myself with System from the rising Hip-Hop group, Da Firm. He thought of the concept along with his younger brother, Keo Curly. He brought everyone together and they stuck together. I'm deeply grateful for this production, it was enjoyable and we all had a blast. Their music is included here.
