Thanks to all the organizers and spontaneous volunteers that make this so much fun. I hope the organizers think of a fair way to help encourage even more amazing costumes and revelry in the future.

To be fair i just watched it again and i think there was quite a few exploitative shots of guys as well. what gives? and what's with all the white people?
It is true, there were a few shots that could be considered overtly sexual. There were also several long shots of girls which, in my opinion, were not overtly sexual, although someone who gets off on cowbells might disagree.
sad the anonymous connected slutty with sexual. This kind of feedback does not encourage self expression but further condemns ones actions with an air of puritanical shame.
of course if the anonymous poster wants to do it better, please do!

i'm not dissing on slutty (to me, it's not a bad thing!) and when it comes to halloween costumes, people generally opt between a comical one, a sexy one (naughty nurse, leather baby, etc.) or just an easy one (ghost, witch, etc). but i lined up to race in that women's field, and it was amazing, almost every single woman was costumed. i was excited to see footage of the women's race, but haven't been able to find any except of the same few people. so anyway, i just noticed that if the females were not in a bikini or lifting their skirt, they didn't get much or any airtime on this video. sure, there are also some shots of dudes with little clothing, but there are other dudes, too. i don't think we need a dissertation on the topic, but what i'm saying is true, and i just would like the coverage of cross races to be less like mainstream society and more like cross races. which are about women being lots of things, perhaps including but not limited to sexual.
simply put, i saw some women in funny costumes that i'd like to see a video of.

I will always give preference to folks who show skin but I will admit that the women's coverage was weak.
Ironclad salutes you, CrankMyChain, you guys are making some great stuff with your vids...history makes itself, but it takes a certain eye to document it, and we take our hats off to you. And, in the Astoria video, we take our clothes off, too.

Um I think there needs to be more footage of the chicks in bikinis - not just because they're slutty, but be cause that shit was funny.
